Sacred Union

Many ancient traditions and indigenous belief systems express feminine and masculine beyond the human construction of gender as spiritual energies innate to each one of us. Well-known articulations of this include the yin-yang of Chinese cosmology or the modern anima and animus of Jungian depth psychology. In Taoism, the interaction of yin and yang produces the primal lifeforce of qi, which fosters a sense of wholeness within our being. In the Jungian world, the masterpiece is the integration of anima (feminine) and animus (masculine), a sacred union that generates the essential conditions for self-actualisation; living life to your fullest potential.

Our ancestors of Ireland and the Celtic Isles held this to be true. The manifestation of the sacred union—the marriage of the divine feminine symbolised by the archetype of the Sovereignty Goddess, and the divine masculine symbolised by the archetype of the King—is integral to the cosmology of our forebearers. Without this marriage:

Menacing lightning storms would strike,

Deathly plagues would spread,

Wildlife would perish,

Milk would dry up,

The harvest would fail,

The tuath (the tribe's) birth rate would plummet.

Life itself would be impossible.

In ways, this warning has come to pass, as we live in the world of a mad King reigning as patriarchy. And yet, the teachings of our ancestors show us the power of good union between the feminine and masculine; when both are honoured:

Seasons will cycle in harmony,

Healthy calves will be born in but three month’s gestation,

A sack of wheat will yield from each ridge,

Rivers will gush knee-deep in salmon,

Honey will be but a finger-tip away,

There will not be enough vessels on the land to hold the flow of milk.

Life will feel WILDLY abundant.

Your Curriculum

Three Cauldrons of Creativity:

The cauldron is a powerful symbol in Celtic Mythology. In Irish and Welsh traditions, there are many tales that feature magical cauldrons. There are banqueting cauldrons for nourishment and plenty; cauldrons that regenerate and bring people back to life; and cauldrons that offer mystical imbas forosnai—the light of foresight, the wisdom we need for our times.

Your Curriculum is designed around three cauldrons that flow between one another. We cannot dictate what they will brew for you as we do not live in your body, but we trust that you will receive wild nourishment and a magical potion for your life at this juncture. Here’s a flavour of what you’ll experience…

Cauldron 1:

Illuminating your Inner Sovereignty Goddess & King

This cauldron is a potion of reflection to consider the shadow and illuminated archetypes of the Sovereignty Goddess and King within. You will experience the King’s Keen to treasure all aspects of your inner-feminine and masculine including those you have exiled.

You will participate in the Keys to the Kingdom journey to the Upper World to meet the self-actualised Sovereignty Goddess and King and enter into your own sacred union within.

Cauldron 2:

the Banais Ríghe - the sacred union

This cauldron is a potion of mystical teachings and storytelling where you will travel to the Celtic Otherworld and through the eyes of the Sovereignty Goddess appreciate what makes a good King, and why this cosmological teaching of our ancestors is critical to our times.

You will experience the Banais Ríghe, the highest form of ritual in early Irish society; the divine marriage between the feminine and masculine that enabled the tuath, the ‘tribe’ to flourish.

You will meet the many faces of Sovereignty Goddesses and Kings in the Irish tradition like Queen Medb, the Morrígan, Ériu, Mór Muman, and the Dagda, Lugh Lámhfhada, Nuada Airgeadlámh, and Cormac MacAirt. You will reclaim the legacy of your mythical dynasty.

Cauldron 3:

Tending to the Flame of Your Inner-Marriage

This cauldron is a potion brewed by the mythical arts.

You will experience Mythical Movement Magic to drop the archetypes of the Sovereignty Goddess and King into your body and give them a face from your own lineage; receive the gifts of the divine feminine and masculine within your body; and move into your Sacred Union. 

You will create your own talisman to symbolise the magic of your feminine and masculine powers on the path to integration. This practice will be accessible to everyone, it is about experiencing your mythical lineage through your body, not perfection or artistic talent. ♡

Jen

I’m Jen, Creatrix of Celtic Embodiment, a cutting-edge modality that fuses the ancient wisdom of Irish Mythology with the emerging field of Feminine Embodiment Coaching to transform modern life for women.

I am an award-winning Feminine Embodiment Coach and hold a degree in Medieval Irish & Celtic Studies and a B.A., postgrad. and M.A. in the Anthropology of Development with a specialism in critical pedagogy—passionate about how we reclaim our power in our own learning experiences. I also hold a third-level qualification in creativity and innovation.

I come from a lineage of storytellers and wisdom keepers on my maternal line and am fascinated by the natural coalescence between our ancestral myths and our bodies as a potent brew to step into our Sovereign Power, Sensual Enchantment, and our Becoming—who we are called to be in this life.

Sarah

I’m Sarah, Bean Ghlúine (Midwife) and Bean Caointe (Keening Woman) from Ireland. I have been holding sacred space for 12 years both with birthing mothers and also women birthing themselves through their spiritual rebirth or rites of passage. My passion is blending the two worlds of Medical and Mystical together in divine union. I like to play in the liminal space between birth and death, spirit and human to receive wisdom, healing and guidance for the women I hold space for.

I am a published author of ‘WOMAN: A guide to living your best life by setting yourself free & coming home to your true nature’ and the Creatrix of The Sacred Conception Method™, The Sacred Birth Method™ and a magical community of women for spirituality and healing, MATRIARCH.
